The Arts

The Arts Program is designed to enable members to create and contribute to art education and activities in the community which in return helps raise public consciousness and directly connects members to the community.

The goals for this program are:

1. Create and contribute to the arts education in our community,
2. Engage our members in developing and enjoying creative arts as a method of self expression.

The Arts Committee is directly involved in the major fund raiser for the Buford Lanier Fashion Show each spring designing the setting for the luncheon, stage, and silent auction.
 

From these funds, the club supports charities.  The Arts Committee has supported the

1. Atlanta Community Orchestra,
2. Hudgens Center for the Arts,
3. The Believers Concert Band,
4. Buford Community Girls' Chorus,
5. Buford High School Thespians.

The Arts Committee also engages local artists to lead classes for members.  These classes are outside the meetings.

Our members participate in the Arts by volunteering at the Buford Museum.  We also plan trips for our members to local museums, plays, and music.
